The Messenger allows you to keep in touch with your friends and to chat with them in real time. How does it work?

What's the Messenger?

With the Messenger, you can chat with your best friends all the while surfing on Skyrock. Once activated, the Messenger appears on the bottom of all Skyrock pages that you visit. To use the Messenger, you must activate it by going into "My friends" >> "Settings". You can chat with people you have added as your best friends, and who have also added you to their best friend list.

How do you activate the Messenger?

To use the Messenger you must first activate it by going into "Friends" >> "Settings" >> and tick "activate the Messenger". Once it's activated, add friends to your list of best friends.

How to add friends to your best friends list ?

The Messenger only works between friends who have added one another to their respective best friends lists.

To add one of your friends to your list of best friends.
Click on the "Friends" section >> Go to "My complete list" >> Choose one or several friends >> Click on the button "Add to my best friends". You'll see a message asking you if you want to inform them that you've added them to your list of best friends. If you click "OK", they'll receive a message informing them of this action, but if you click "Cancel", they won't receive any messages but will appear in your list of best friends.

To directly add a user to your list of best friends:
Suppose that you're surfing on a blog or a profile and you want to add its author to your list of best friends. Here's what to do: Click on "Add to my friends" >> check "Add to my best friends". You'll receive a confirmation that you added this person to your list of best friends ("Friends" >> "Invites" >> "Sent"). The people you invite will be informed that you have added them to your list of best friends.

Set up my Messenger?

Set up your Messenger by changing your preferences:

• Your status: Choose whether you want to appear online, inactive, or invisible
• Your latest: Your blurb of the day
• Sound: On or off (dependant on your location on the website)
• Graphics: You can include a transitional effect for the Messenger's display within the same page
